DESCRIPTION
This Fox C-22 is a strut-braced high wing airplane powered with a Rotax 462 two-cylinder, 2-stroke, water-cooled engine. The engine is equipped with a starter and generator for 12-volt operation. The 12-volt storage battery supplies current for starting and identification lights. The battery is located in the nose of the aircraft
A single control stick is situated between the seats, with the throttle situated on the outer front sides of both seats. The flap handle is situated in the roof between the two seats. The hydraulic brakes, situated on the control stick, control both wheels simultaneously. The wide tread landing gear with rubber cord shock absorbers and the steerable nose wheel provide stability and easy manoeuvring on the ground.
 The instrument panel contains the flight instrument, engine instruments, and hand held radio bracket. The intercom system is located on the floor at the panel base.
The two 25 litre fuel tanks are situated behind each seat. There are no fuel cocks in the system. Fuel pressure is supplied via a mechanical fuel pump situated to the left, rear of the engine. An auxiliary electric fuel pump is also fitted.

STARTING:

1.   APPLY CHOKE IF THE ENGINE IS COLD.  (MANUAL CHOKE ON THE CARB.
2.   SET THE THROTTLE TO IDLE POSITION.
3.   TURN “MASTER SWITCH” ON.
4.   MOVE THE MAGNETO SWITCH TO “ON” POSITION
5.   ENSURE PROP AREA IS CLEAR OF PEOPLE; ACTIVATE THE STARTER BY TURNING THE KEY FURTHER TO THE RIGHT.
6.   ONCE STARTED OPEN THE THROTTLE UPTO 1800 rpm.
7.   LET THE ENGINE RUN FOR A FEW 45 SECONDS, SWITCH THE ENGINE OFF & RELEASE THE CHOKE.


PRE-TAKE OFF CHECKS:

1.   ENSURE THAT FLIGHT CONTROLS ARE FULLY OPERATIVE.
2.   CHECK THAT HARNESSES ARE SECURE.
3.   CHECK THE IGNITION CIRCUITS (MAGS) AT 4000 rpm. DROP MUST NOT EXCEED 300 rpm


AFTER TAKE-OFF CHECKS:

1.   CLIMBING WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AT MAX. Rpm (6800) IS PERMISSIBLE FOR 5 MINUTES.
2.   OBSERVE COOLANT TEMPERATURES.
3.   LIMITS MUST NOT BE EXCEEDED. 70°C

FUEL SYSTEM:

1.   BOTH TANKS FEED SIMULTANEOUSLY. THERE IS NO FUEL GAUGE FITTED.

 COOLANT

1.   COOLANT IS CHECKED BY REMOVING THE RADIATOR CAP AND OBSERVING THE LEVEL.
2.    USE 50% ANTIFREEZE CONCENTRATE WITH ADDITIVES AGAINST CORROSION AND 50% WATER.

Service hints

BATTERY:

THE 12 VOLT BATTERY IS LOCATED AFT OF THE FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, ACCESSIBLE BY REMOVING THE FIREWALL BACK COWLING.

WINDSHIELD AND WINDOWS:

USE ONLY GOOD QUALITY SOAP, CLEAN WATER AND CLEAN WATER AND CLEAN SOFT CLOTHS TO CLEAN THESE AREAS. THE USE OF PATENTED CLEANERS IS NOT RECOMMENDED BECAUSE OF THEIR POSSIBLE SOLVENT ACTION ON THE MATERIAL USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THESE PARTS,
